Meet Your Flute Teacher

Sharing the joy of music, one student at a time.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, building confidence, and creating opportunities for growth and self-expression. As a flute teacher, I love helping students discover their musical potential, develop their skills, and experience the joy of making music.

I hold a Master’s degree in Flute Performance from the University of Alabama and have been teaching for over 10 years. Throughout my teaching career, I’ve enjoyed working with students at different stages of their musical journeys, helping each one grow in skill, confidence, and appreciation for music.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every student deserves an encouraging, supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable exploring, asking questions, and taking on new challenges. No two students are exactly alike, and I strive to make each lesson reflect the individual student’s needs, interests, learning style, and goals.

For young beginners, my goal is to build a strong musical foundation while nurturing curiosity and a love of learning. For students involved in school band, I enjoy helping them strengthen their technique, develop their musical expression, and grow in confidence as performers. And for teens and adults who are beginning or returning to the flute, I wand lessons to be a welcoming space to learn, explore, and enjoy the process at their own pace.

While developing strong technique and musicianship is important, I believe that learning music should be a rewarding experience. Celebrating progress, building perseverance, and discovering the satisfaction of mastering something new are all meaningful parts of the journey.

Music for a Lifetime

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students grow - not only as musicians, but also in confidence and independence. My hope is that students leave each lesson feeling encouraged, challenged in a positive way, and excited about what they’ll accomplish next.

Whether your child is picking up the flute for the first time, your student is looking to grow beyond school band, or you’re an adult ready to explore a new passion, I’d love to be part of your musical journey.

I’m excited to help you discover your sound and find joy in making music!
